PUBLIC SPACE MANIFESTO - GRAPHICS STUDIO
Whether conversion, participation or renaturalisation - transformation processes are the driving forces that change public spaces in both urban and rural regions or even create them in the first place. They serve to heal landscape wounds, promote political participation or reactivate forgotten places. In the seminar, we used case studies to explore different types of transformation and looked at who initiated them, which development mechanisms were pre-programmed or unprogrammed and what role was played by the various designers. In order to communicate these complex processes, we developed suitable visualisation methods using storyboards, diagrams, collages and illustrations. The aim was to compile the analysis results and tools in a catalogue that can be used to better understand changes in our environment.
