MALA HEVIYA - HOUSE OF HOPE

Exhibition of the Mala Heviya / House of Hope network – Youth Humanitarian Aid Association – Technical University of Braunschweig, Department of Architecture – Berlin University of the Arts, Institute for Transmedia Design, class of Prof. Fons Hickmann – Luftbrücke Irak e.V. – and others

‘Hevi’ means ‘hope’ in Kurdish. And ‘Mala Heviya’ – that is the house of hope. A name that combines what people who have been robbed of everything except their lives need most: a home and courage for the future.
The exhibition shows designs by students at the TU Braunschweig for an orphanage in Ba'adre in northern Iraq. It tells of a network of people who have made it their mission to help children and women in northern Iraq from Germany. Communication media, developed by students at the UdK Berlin, help to spread the word about the project and to further the growth of the network. Become part of our efforts to realise the House of Hope soon.
